For our office in Ravno pole, we are looking for a Junior Data Scientist (m/f) who is involved in analytics at Lidl Bulgaria successfully. You will support our departments by using analytical methods to improve operational processes and make even better strategic decisions.

With your business acumen and your data science knowledge, you will be part of the journey to integrate Analytics successful into Lidl Bulgaria business processes.

What will you do:

• Together with experts, you will identify issues where data science provides real added value for Lidl.
• You clean up and link relevant data sources as a basis for further analyzes.
• You use state-of-the-art algorithms to optimize different business processes and bring about the proof-of-concept, using our extensive & modern big data platform in the cloud.
• You will conduct pilots together with specialist departments to demonstrate the functionality and added value of your models in practice.
• You work on projects in interdisciplinary, agile teams and present new results to stakeholders and management at regular intervals.
• As part of Lidl's global analytics community, you will exchange ideas with experts from different countries, scale your results to an international level and test models from other teams.
• Together with colleagues from IT, you will prepare the transition to industrialization.
• Create data visualizations and reportings to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in data science.

What we expect from you:

• Bachelors in data science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, economics, business administration or a related subject.
• First experience in the field of data & analytics or reporting as part of previous job, internships or working student activities.
• Good knowledge in the application of machine learning, optimization and data mining methods (e.g. with Python, Spark or R).
• Knowledge in dealing with databases, e.g. SQL.
• Ability to understand complex questions and scenarios, analyze them in detail and present the insights gained to a non-technical audience in an understandable way.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with data reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Microstrategy).
• Fluent in English (B2 – C1), proficiency in German would be considered an advantage.
