Accounting Receivables/Payables Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Receivables/Payables Team Lead to join our client's team in Sofia, which is a leading international provider of innovative automotive lighting solutions.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Management

  • Manage and process accounts receivable transactions, including customer debits and price adjustments.

  • Post and reconcile bank statements, ensuring accurate clearing of debtor payments.

  • Conduct dunning procedures and maintain debtor accounts.

  • Handle all correspondence with debtors.

  • Support the monthly intercompany balance confirmation process, including creating and processing balance confirmations.

  • Assist in documenting and optimizing accounting processes and workflows.

  • Contribute to internal and external audits, including year-end, tax, and other regulatory reviews.

  • Accounts Payable Management

  • Oversee accounts payable transactions, including the creation and posting of supplier debits.

  • Prepare payment proposals and manage data carriers.

  • Handle creditor correspondence and maintain creditor accounts.

  • Review and post down payments and final invoices.

  • Support the monthly intercompany balance confirmation process, including creating and processing balance confirmations.

  • Verify bank details for accuracy and ensure confirmation within the system.

  • Assist in documenting and optimizing accounting processes and workflows.

  • Contribute to internal and external audits, including year-end, tax, and other regulatory reviews.

General Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in accounts handling.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external standards and support audit processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable teams, with strong leadership skills to motivate and guide team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel.
  • Experience in process documentation, optimization, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
