For one of our valued clients, a global leader in automation technology and technical education, we’re currently looking for an Automated Test Engineer.
Mission: The Automated Test Engineer will design and run automated tests using Python to ensure embedded systems and user interfaces in life science devices meet quality and regulatory standards. You will collaborate with development teams, analyze test results, and help maintain test automation frameworks to support product reliability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, run, and maintain automated tests for embedded systems and user interfaces in the life sciences field using Python.
- Plan and perform tests to make sure software and hardware work well and meet quality standards.
- Use GitLab CI/CD to automate running tests and sharing results.
- Work closely with software and hardware teams to understand testing needs and fix problems.
- Review test results, report any issues, and keep records following industry rules.
- Help with integration, system, and regression testing for medical or life science devices.
- Test user interfaces to make sure they are easy to use and function correctly.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest best practices and new tools in automated testing.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
- Good skills in Python programming for automated testing.
- Experience using GitLab CI/CD for running automated tests.
- Familiar with version control (Git) and software development processes.
- Experience writing and running test plans in regulated industries is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and documentation abilities.
- Fluent in English; German is a bonus.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certificate is helpful.
- Experience working in life sciences or medical device industries.
- Knowledge of regulatory rules and validation for software testing.
- Hands-on experience with testing tools like pytest or Robot Framework.
- Understanding of testing methods for safety-critical software.
