Customer Activation Service Engineer

On behalf of one of our clients, a telecommunication company , we are currently looking for Customer Activation Service Engineer to join their team.

What you will be doing:

  • Own and manage incidents from initial reporting until resolution;

  • Carry out technical analysis and investigations of turn-up issues;

  • Remote technical support for our delivery teams and field engineers during the installation and provisioning of services;

  • Diagnose and apply or change network-element configuration;

  • Update Salesforce ticketing system with relevant information, following operational guidelines;

  • Act as Customer advocate and engage any and all internal departments, and external suppliers, as required to ensure speedy resolution of activation incidents and trigger internal and external escalation as required;

  • Communicate with internal and external parties using different channels (Chat, E-Mail, Phone);

  • Assist and coordinate scheduled activities and specific network projects;

  • Ensure service and circuit documentation is updated in line with any restoration activities undertaken;

  • Flag repeated / chronic issues and help develop corrective action plans as well as contributing towards trouble shooting guides and problem resolution techniques.

  • Ideally, your skills will include:

  • Experience in handling efficient communication and following standard fault-finding procedures;

  • Ability to remotely test data /transmission circuits, troubleshoot problems, and work with third party vendors;

  • Proactively track and make escalations as appropriate;

  • Practical, working knowledge of Infinera, Huawei, Nortel, Transmode, ADVA and Juniper is preferred but other hardware will be considered;

  • Some knowledge of CWDM/DWDM transmission networks is preferred. Ideally a basic knowledge of optical DWDM networks and underlying technology;

  • Knowledge of VPN / MPLS based circuits (L2vpn, L3vpn) is beneficial;

  • Understanding of fibre based and transport protocols;

  • General knowledge of telecom industry and standards;

  • Excellent customer focus and ability to work with International customers;

  • Ability to think logically when under pressure;

  • Fluent written and spoken English essential;

  • Оther European languages are beneficial.
