Senior Java Developer – ETRM field

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer for one of our clients, a strategic and exclusive near-shore partner of one of the world's largest IT consulting firms.

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, notably in Gas and Power Commodities Trading, as well as a track record of developing Java-based solutions for enterprises. They will thrive at working with end users to extract requirements, analyse problems, develop solutions, and generate meaningful business value.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and building advanced solutions in the Energy/Commodity Trading and Risk Management sector;

• Ensuring seamless integration with client ecosystems;

• Delivering high-quality, user-friendly enterprise solutions.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of Java software development experience;

• Experience with Java 8+ EE and extensive Java knowledge (OOP, data structures, inheritance);

• Knowledge of SOAP Web Services, XSD, XML;

• Knowledge of relational databases like Oracle and MSSQL;

• Knowledge of source control systems like GIT, SVN;

• Experience with Agile methodology;

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English (C1 level at least);

• Desire to enhance existing domain knowledge of Energy Trading.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the ETRM domain;

• Expertise in areas like Connex Frameworks (including exposure to OpenLink’s Java APIs);

• Experience in physical and financial trading, including knowledge of physical trades, storage and transport models, financial trades including nonlinear trades and their valuation;

• Knowledge of natural gas emissions, and renewables trading in Europe, the US, and Canada;

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or Business Administration;

• International experience – working or studying abroad;

• Familiarity with curve modelling, including volatility setup.
