PRODUCT MANAGER

The mission:

The Product Manager will be technically responsible for a defined set of company products, acting as the interface between feedstock, production, quality, labs, sales, marketing and technical service. The Product Manager will have a key role in the implementation of circular economy procedures and transforming company products. This role reports to Managing director locally, but with a strong dotted line to the regional head of product management in HQ.

The Major Responsibilities Include:

• Support cost & complexity optimization actions for defined product portfolio • Implement activities aligned to quality standards for the commercial products. • Be part of planning test runs with production and lead the evaluation of products that were produced • Provide technical support internally, for troubleshooting in production, product modifications, value chain marketing projects, as well as for external presentations and industrial state-of-the-art training of internal engineers. • Provide technical support for solving complex customer problems. • Lead technical investigation and decide on justification of product claims • Support implementation of incremental product modifications to improve product performance, reduce product cost and improve product quality • Support the development of applications for existing grades • Ownership of Internal and/or External Product Specifications, Product Data Sheets and Technical Data Base. Ensure legal compliance of relevant products (REACH, standards etc.) • Monitor raw material quality and supplier performance, propose corrective and improvement actions and manage changes

Experience required:

• Around 3-5 years of experience in a relevant role – technical, or product management, or quality or another, in the field of manufacturing polymers, plastics, recycling or a related business. • Experience working in a fast-paced enterprise, balancing the interests of several stakeholders • Practical knowledge of managing projects in an industrial context and coordinating the activities of multiple teams both internally and externally, across national borders

Qualification and skills:

• Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Engineering or another relevant field is a must. Postgraduate education and further training in these fields are welcome. • Knowledge in the field of polymer science and engineering is essential. • Excellent general knowledge of materials, application, manufacturing, chemistry, physics, modelling, and/or processing. • Product formulation knowledge. Understanding of commercial implications of technical solutions. • Good knowledge in polymer production technologies. • Familiarity with additives/ingredients functionality, availability, cost and quality. • Computer literacy – MS Office, ERP, CRM, other professional software • Fluency in English
